Steal an Egg drop rates: every zone's listed odds and a spawn calculator
Every value on this page is quoted from the Steal An Egg Wiki's Drop Rates page (rev 2400) and the pet infoboxes, as read on 22 October 2026; the Voidseer Pumpkin, Ghost Reaper and Shelltide Voyager infoboxes were re-read on 24 October 2026, and the pet data module (rev 2636) and Ghost Reaper (rev 2621) on 25 October 2026. Shares, 1-in-N figures and spawn counts are our arithmetic on those listed values. Nobody on this site plays the game.
Short answer · The wiki's Drop Rates page (rev 2400, read 22 October 2026) lists a spawn value for every pet in each zone, taken from the game files. Divide a value by its zone's total to get the chance per egg: Kitsune, Nightflame, ArchAngel, World Burner and Royal Skywhale sit at 0.02 (1 in 5,000), Unicorn at 0.0231993 (about 1 in 4,310) and El Maja at 0.08889 (1 in 1,125). An even chance at a 1-in-5,000 pet takes 3,466 egg spawns.
The Steal an Egg drop rates that players keep searching for finally have a public source: the Steal An Egg Wiki's Drop Rates page, revision 2400, last edited on 20 October 2026, lists 141 spawn values across 14 areas of the game. The page says the numbers were found in the game files at ReplicatedStorage/Data/Areas. It covers the twelve biomes on the wiki's Biomes page, plus Enchanted Forest and a three-part Halloween area, with one list of pets per zone and a number beside each pet.
Those numbers are not odds you can read off directly. Most zone lists add up to 100, but Lake's add up to 99.43 and the Halloween lists are described as weights. The calculator below handles that the same way throughout: it divides each pet's value by its zone's listed total, then works out the chance of seeing a pet at least once in a given number of egg spawns. Pick a zone, pick a pet and type a number of spawns. The rest of this page gives every zone's full table, three worked examples, the rarest pet in each area, and the things the source does not cover.

Where the Drop Rates page gets its numbers
The wiki page is short and plain. Its opening line says it "lists every animals you can get in the different zones + their spawn/drop chance", and adds that "these percentages had been found in the game files at the following path : ReplicatedStorage/Data/Areas". Below that sit fourteen headings, Forest to Halloween, each with a list in the form "Pet = value". Where the game file uses a different internal name, the wiki adds it in brackets: Fox is "internally named Mire Fox", Lava Dragon is internally "Dragon", Nightflame is internally "Godzilla" and Gorilla King is internally "King Kong". The tables on this page keep those internal names in brackets, so each row can be matched against the source line it came from.
Two areas break the one-list pattern. Angels vs Demons, which the wiki calls "kinda special", has three lists, one for each form the 12th biome can take, each with its own chance of appearing. Halloween is "divided on 3 zones with different drops", and the page warns that, unlike the rest, "it's seems to work like weights, instead of percentages". Pet names are copied as the page spells them, including "Lav Gecko", "Lava frog" and "Centapede".
The source has limits, and they matter. The wiki is a community reference, tier 3 in this site's source register, and anyone can edit it. Revision 2400 is the version this page and the calculator use; a later edit could change a value, and this page will not follow it until it is re-read. The page also gives no date for when the game files were read, so a game update after that point could have changed the real values without anyone editing the wiki.
How do you turn a listed value into real odds?
Turning the Steal an Egg drop rates into usable odds takes three steps. First, the share: divide the pet's value by the sum of every value in that zone's list. For most zones the sum is 100 or within a millionth of it, so the share is simply the value read as a percentage. Second, the chance of seeing the pet at least once in N egg spawns is 1 − (1 − p)^N, where p is the share. That formula treats every spawn as an independent draw, which is the simplest reading of a table like this; the wiki does not say whether the game does anything cleverer. Third, the number of spawns for a given target T is the smallest N with 1 − (1 − p)^N ≥ T, which works out as ln(1 − T) ÷ ln(1 − p), rounded up. The calculator shows that figure for 50% and 90%.
The three examples below are the ones searchers ask about most, worked by hand so the calculator's output can be checked. Each starts from the wiki value and ends with numbers you can reproduce on any phone calculator.
- Kitsune, Cherry Blossom. Wiki value 0.02 out of a zone total of 100, so p = 0.0002, or 1 in 5,000. In 100 spawns: 1 − 0.9998^100 = 1.98%. In 1,000 spawns: 18.1%. Even chance: ln 0.5 ÷ ln 0.9998 = 3,466 spawns. Ninety per cent: 11,512 spawns. The Kitsune infobox lists it as Divine, $1.8B/s, grow time 12h.
- Unicorn, Cosmic. Wiki value 0.0231993 out of 100.000001, so p ≈ 0.000232, or about 1 in 4,310. In 1,000 spawns: 1 − (1 − 0.000232)^1000 ≈ 20.7%. Even chance: 2,988 spawns. Ninety per cent: 9,925. The Unicorn infobox lists it as Divine; its income is entered under a misspelt field name, so the box shows none, and the Pets and Eggs table gives $1B/s.
- El Maja, Abyss Ocean. Wiki value 0.08889 out of 100.000001, so p ≈ 0.00088890, or about 1 in 1,125. In 1,000 spawns: 58.9%. Even chance: 780 spawns. Ninety per cent: 2,590. The El Maja infobox lists it as Eternal, $130M/s, grow time 5h 30m.
Forest to Volcano: the first six zones
Forest is the only zone with round numbers: it uses values that sum to exactly 100, from Chicken at 34 down to Brr Brr Patapim at 1. From Lake to Cosmic the values carry up to six or seven decimal places. Of these six zones, Lake is the only one clearly short of 100: its seven pets sum to 99.431222, so Axolotl's 4.037816 becomes a share of 4.1% rather than 4.0%. Lake is also the only zone on the page with seven pets instead of eight.
Rarity climbs fast after Desert. Royal Sphinx, Desert's rarest pet and a Cosmic on its infobox, is about 1 in 75. Jungle's King Snake, internally named Warden and listed as Secret, is 0.123968, about 1 in 807, which makes it rarer per spawn than Snow's Yeti (about 1 in 269) or Volcano's Cerberus (about 1 in 161). The columns below are our arithmetic on the wiki's values; the spawns column is how many egg spawns give an even chance of seeing that pet at least once.

Abyss Ocean through Enchanted Forest
From Cherry Blossom onwards the wiki's lists follow a fixed ladder. Cherry Blossom, Titan Temple and Enchanted Forest all use exactly the same eight values: 37.51, 26.27, 16.83, 13.96, 4.36, 0.74, 0.31 and 0.02. The pets change, but the shape does not. In each zone the 0.74 slot is a Secret on its infobox (Stag, Mutant Shark, Starry Fox), the 0.31 slot is an Eternal (Oni Tiger, Gorilla King, Celestial Sunlion) and the 0.02 slot is a Divine (Kitsune, Nightflame, Royal Skywhale). The same ladder appears again in the Angels and Demons forms below.
The earlier zones are irregular. Abyss Ocean puts El Maja at 0.08889, about 1 in 1,125. Prehistoric's rarest pet is Mosasaurus at 0.311113, about 1 in 321, and Cosmic holds the hardest pet outside the fixed ladder, Unicorn at 0.0231993. Outside the ladder, two pairs of pets share a value across zones: Kraken in Abyss Ocean and Tralaledon in Prehistoric are both listed at 0.826453, and Ice Dragon in Snow and Phoenix in Volcano are both listed at 0.222224.

Angels vs Demons: one biome, three forms, a 45/45/10 split
The wiki's Biomes page lists Angels & Demons as zone 12 with a 20B speed requirement and says it "randomly appears in 1 of 3 forms". The Drop Rates page gives each form a chance: Angels 45%, Demons 45%, and the merged Angels & Demons form 10%. Angels and Demons each have eight pets on the familiar ladder. The merged form has twelve pets and drops the two commonest of each side, so Light Dove, Winged Lamb, Flame Sprite and Toro do not appear in it at all.
The merged form is the better one for the Divines. ArchAngel and World Burner are 0.02 in their own forms (1 in 5,000) but 0.03 in the merged form (about 1 in 3,333). If you average over the three forms using the wiki's 45/45/10 split, the chance that any one spawn is an ArchAngel is 0.45 × 0.0002 + 0.10 × 0.0003 = 0.00012, about 1 in 8,333. That is our arithmetic, and it assumes the form is drawn as often as eggs are; the Drop Rates page does not say how long a form lasts. Aetheron, which the Biomes page names as a guardian here and whose infobox lists it as Divine at 6.9B/s, does not appear in any of the three Drop Rates lists. More on the zone's pets is on /steal-an-egg-angels-and-demons.

Why the Halloween zones use weights, not percentages
Halloween is the one area the wiki flags as different in kind. It is split into Graveyard (Zone 1), Haunted Swamp (Zone 2) and Abandoned Manor (Zone 3), each with six pets, and the page says the values "work like weights". In practice that changes little, because the totals are close to 100: Graveyard sums to 99.98, Haunted Swamp to exactly 100 and Abandoned Manor to 100.036. Dividing by the total turns Voidseer Pumpkin's 0.056 into a share of about 0.056%, or 1 in 1,786, which makes it the rarest Halloween pet on the page.
Several Halloween pets now have a filled infobox, all edited on 22 October 2026. Voidseer Pumpkin's (rev 2565) lists it as Divine with $12.5B/s and a reward of $1.4T, and leaves the grow time blank; the earlier revision 2403 gave "12.5B", "1 day" and "IDK". Ghost Reaper (rev 2530) is an Eternal at $300M/s with a $30B reward, and Shelltide Voyager (rev 2544) an Eternal at $1.6B/s with a $160B reward; neither listed a grow time then, and Ghost Reaper's later revision 2621, edited 24 October 2026, adds a grow time of "7 hours". The wiki's pet data module (rev 2636, read 25 October 2026) now lists all three, so they are in this site's pet table; the module gives Voidseer Pumpkin $14B/s against the infobox's $12.5B/s, and this site uses the infobox figure. The Drop Rates page also does not say how a player moves between the three Halloween zones or whether the area is permanent.

The rarest pet in each zone, and why list order is not rarity
The chart below takes the lowest value in each of the 18 lists and plots its share on a log scale. Five pets tie at the bottom, Kitsune, Nightflame, ArchAngel and World Burner in their own forms, and Royal Skywhale, all at 0.02, or 1 in 5,000. Unicorn is a touch more common at about 1 in 4,310. Next come ArchAngel and World Burner in the merged form at 0.03 (about 1 in 3,333), Voidseer Pumpkin at about 1 in 1,786 and El Maja at about 1 in 1,125. Jungle, Snow, Volcano, Prehistoric and the first two Halloween zones bottom out between about 1 in 320 and 1 in 810, while Forest, Lake and Desert never go rarer than 1 in 100.
Do not read the wiki's lists from top to bottom as a rarity ranking. In Cosmic, Cosmic Skeleton Boss (0.495856) is listed above Cosmic Dragon (0.743784), so the pet further down is the commoner of the two; both are Secret on their infoboxes, Cosmic Skeleton Boss at $45M/s and Cosmic Dragon at $60M/s. In Prehistoric, Triceratops (4.929402) is listed above Bronto (6.995959), and both are Cosmic. In Volcano, Chillin Chilli, a Mythic at $55K/s on its infobox, is listed after Lava Iguana, a Legendary, yet its value of 17.030999 is higher than Lava Iguana's 15.027352. A higher rarity label therefore does not always mean a lower spawn value. Sort by the value, never by the position or the label. For the pets themselves, see /steal-an-egg-secret-pets and /steal-an-egg-best-pets.

What the Drop Rates page cannot tell you
Several things that decide what you actually end up with sit outside the Steal an Egg drop rates table. Egg size is a separate roll: the wiki's Eggs page says bigger eggs carry a higher value multiplier and make you slower, but the Drop Rates page has no size figures, so use /steal-an-egg-size-calculator for that side. Mutations are not on it either; their own weights live on the Mutations page, summarised at /steal-an-egg-mutations. Egg colours are absent, and the Eggs page says colours change the look of the egg and pet but not the income. Limited event eggs bought from the Store, the Rift banners on /steal-an-egg-rift-event and the Laboratory banners on /steal-an-egg-dr-scramble are not covered by the Drop Rates page either.
Time is the other gap. The Eggs page (rev 2599) and the Pets and Eggs page (rev 2420) both say eggs reset every 5 minutes, which is 12 resets an hour. Neither page says how many eggs a zone shows per reset, so this site cannot turn a spawn count such as 3,466 into hours. If you want a time estimate, count how many eggs you can check per reset yourself and divide.
Finally, the Roblox Badges API offers a separate figure that is easy to confuse with a drop rate. On 12 October 2026 the Hatched Divine! badge stood at 0.5%, down from 0.8% on 13 September 2026. Roblox defines that figure as the share of players who earned the badge in the past day, and the badge names no zone or egg; it is not the chance per egg and should not be compared with the wiki's values. For the rest of the egg system, the hub at /steal-an-egg-eggs and the zone guide at /steal-an-egg-zones cover speed gates and guardians, and /steal-an-egg-calculator handles income.
Questions people ask
- What are the odds of getting a Kitsune in Steal an Egg?
- The wiki's Drop Rates page lists Kitsune at 0.02 out of Cherry Blossom's total of 100, so each egg spawn there is 1 in 5,000. You need 3,466 spawns for an even chance of seeing one and 11,512 for a 90% chance, on our arithmetic.
- Which pet has the lowest drop chance in Steal an Egg?
- On the wiki's Drop Rates page five pets share the lowest value, 0.02: Kitsune, Nightflame, Royal Skywhale, and ArchAngel and World Burner in their own Angels or Demons form. That is 1 in 5,000 per spawn. Unicorn in Cosmic is close behind at 0.0231993.
- Why do the Lake values not add up to 100?
- The wiki lists seven Lake pets whose values sum to 99.431222. The page does not explain the gap, so this site divides each value by that total; Axolotl's 4.037816 becomes 4.1% of Lake spawns instead of 4.0%.
- Does the 5-minute egg reset change the chance per egg?
- Nothing on the wiki says so. The Eggs page states that eggs reset every 5 minutes, and the Drop Rates page gives one fixed list per zone, so a reset gives you new eggs to check rather than better odds on each one.
- Is the Hatched Divine! badge figure the same as the Divine spawn odds?
- No. The Roblox Badges API showed the Hatched Divine! badge at 0.5% on 12 October 2026. Roblox defines that figure as the share of players who earned the badge in the past day, and the badge names no zone or egg, while the wiki's Drop Rates values are per egg spawn in one zone.
- Does the Drop Rates list include mutations or egg sizes?
- No. The wiki page lists only which pet an egg spawn is in each zone. Size and mutation are separate rolls described on the Eggs and Mutations pages, so a Kitsune's chance of also being Huge or Rainbow is not included in these values.
