Steal an Egg Dr Scramble event: the lab, the Scrambled mutation and every experiment pet

Every name, price, rarity and income on this page is quoted from the Steal An Egg Wiki as re-read on 25 October 2026. Multiplied incomes are our arithmetic on those listed numbers. Nobody on this site plays the game.

The Steal an Egg Dr Scramble event arrived in two parts. The wiki's Dr. Scramble Event page was created on 19 September 2026 and describes drones that invade the map every 30 minutes, a new currency called Samples, an Experiment Shop and a hidden quest built around an escaped test subject named Nibbles. A second page, Dr. Scramble's Laboratory, was created on 27 September 2026 and last edited on 16 October 2026. It covers Part 2: Dr. Scramble himself attacking in a Mecha every 30 minutes, a 100-tier Boss Milestone track, Boss Mastery rewards and a Laboratory that replaced the Rift Trade-In Machine with three new egg banners.

The event also added a mutation. The wiki's Mutations page lists Scrambled at ×2.75 income, describes it as a "poison like effect" and says it is "currently obtainable via Dr. Scramble's Shop" with a 10 % chance per application. This page sets out what each part added, prices every shop item in Samples, tables the 16 pets on the three Laboratory banners, and does the Scrambled arithmetic on the pets people ask about most. It also states plainly what the wiki does not say, including whether the event is still running.

Part 1 and Part 2: what each update brought

The wiki's Updates page files the event under two numbered updates. Update 5, titled "Dr. Scramble", announced that "every 30 minutes, Dr. Scramble's drones will invade the map". Players find and defeat the drones, collect Samples from the wreckage and spend them in the new Experiment Shop. The event page names three drone types: the Scrap Drone, the Reactor Drone and the Augmented Drone. Each is listed as dropping Samples on defeat, and the vault guide adds that "higher-health drones drop more of the limited Sample currency". The wiki does not give a Sample count per drone.

Update 5 also hid a quest. One of Dr. Scramble's experiments, Nibbles, "also known as Experiment #013", is hiding somewhere on the map. The steps are to find him, discover his secret mission, complete it and obtain a secret item. The event page turns this into a Stolen Experiment Vault guide. The vault is missing five parts: two Lost Parts scattered across the biomes and three Drone Parts dropped by Dr. Scramble's drones at random. The quest starts in a cave on the left-hand wall of Abyss Ocean, which the wiki's Biomes page describes as the place where "Dr. Scramble's mysterious cave" lies. Lost Part #1 is inside Volcano. Lost Part #2 is behind a bush in Prehistoric, near the T-Rex. Completing all five parts grants a limited bat the wiki calls the Scrambler.

Update 6, titled "Dr. Scramble's Laboratory", was Part 2. The Updates page says "We've seized control of Dr. Scramble's Laboratory" and lists the changes: the Rift Trade-In Machine was replaced by the Laboratory, there are three new banners and 15 new pets, and the trade-in system was reworked so that eggs can be handed in directly instead of hatched first. Pity was also changed. Reaching pity "now guarantees the TOP REWARD instead of a random Top 3 reward". The same update brought Dr. Scramble back in person: every 30 minutes he "returns in his Mecha to take over the game". Each victory earns Samples and progress on a 100-tier Boss Milestone track, and tier 100 unlocks what the wiki calls an "OP Eternal" reward pet. The wiki does not name that pet.

One count does not line up. The Laboratory page's header says "22 new pets", while the Update 6 notes say "15 new pets". The 15 matches the number of pets whose wiki infoboxes place them in the Biohazard, Experimental and Unstable eggs. The wiki does not list which 22 pets the larger figure refers to, so this page treats the 15 banner pets as the confirmed set and lists the other event pets separately below. The wiki's pet data module (rev 2636, read 25 October 2026) adds a sixteenth, Hazardhog, under the Biohazard Egg; Hazardhog has no wiki page yet. The same Update 6 notes also announce a paid Extinction Egg with "6 new extinct animals" and a small chance to reroll a hatch into a "SKELETAL VERSION"; the wiki does not say whether those count towards the 22.

475 Samples for a 10 % shot at ×2.75: the Scrambled mutation and the shop

Scrambled is the event's mutation, and it sits high in the table. The wiki's Mutations page lists it at ×2.75. That ties it with Fractured, the Rift event's mutation, and puts it above Golden (×2.5), Spirit Bloom (×2.5), Bloom (×1.25) and Silver (×1.2). Only Rainbow (×3.5) and Parasite (×3) pay more. The Mutations page gives Scrambled no roll weight. It says Scrambled "can be applied to an egg with a 10% chance" and is "currently obtainable via Dr. Scramble's Shop". The event page calls the same place the Experiment Shop, and its vault guide places it beneath the pet menu. Both names refer to one shop.

The event page lists six items. The Scrambled Mutation costs 475 Samples and is marked "x1 · 10%". The Experiment #001 Egg costs 6,500 Samples and is marked "1/1 left". The Nibbles #013 Egg costs 2,950 Samples, marked "3/3 left". A 2x Cash Booster lasting 10 minutes costs 275 Samples. A 1.25x Speed boost lasting 5 minutes costs 375. A 2x Treadmill Booster lasting 10 minutes also costs 375. The wiki does not say whether the "left" counts are per player, and it does not say what happens to the egg when the 10 % roll fails.

A worked number makes the odds concrete. At a flat 10 % per attempt, the average is one success per ten attempts. Ten attempts cost 10 × 475 = 4,750 Samples, so that is the average Sample cost of one Scrambled egg on our arithmetic. Individual runs will land above or below that average. For comparison, 4,750 Samples is a little under three-quarters of the 6,500 that the Experiment #001 Egg costs.

The pets people search for with Scrambled are mostly high-end Angels & Demons pets. The wiki lists RazorFang at $350M/s and Centaur at $350M/s, both Secret rarity, and Skeleton Horse at $1.3B/s, Eternal rarity. Using the wiki's formula of base income × mutation multiplier × size multiplier, a normal-size Scrambled pet earns base × 2.75. That gives:

  • Scrambled RazorFang: $350M/s × 2.75 = $962.5M/s
  • Scrambled Centaur: $350M/s × 2.75 = $962.5M/s
  • Scrambled Skeleton Horse: $1.3B/s × 2.75 = $3.575B/s
  • Scrambled Experiment #001: $285M/s × 2.75 = $783.75M/s
  • Scrambled Mecha Scrambler: $7.5B/s × 2.75 = $20.625B/s
  • Scrambled RazorFang that is also Huge (the wiki's examples imply ×5): $350M/s × 2.75 × 5 = $4.8125B/s

Sixteen pets across three Laboratory banners

The Laboratory page calls its banner "permanent" and says it rotates through three egg pools: Biohazard, Experimental and Unstable DNA. On the pet infoboxes, the third egg is written simply as the Unstable Egg. Each banner asks for pets from particular zone eggs. Biohazard draws from Prehistoric, Cosmic and Cherry Blossom eggs. Experimental draws from Cosmic, Cherry Blossom and Titan Temple eggs. Unstable DNA draws from Cosmic, Cherry Blossom, Titan Temple and Angels & Demons eggs. The page names the required pets by egg and rarity tier. For Unstable DNA, for example, the Angels & Demons list runs from the Legendary Light Dove and Flame Sprite up to the Secret Gargoyle and Pure Jellyfish.

The table below lists every pet the wiki places in one of the three Laboratory eggs, with rarity and listed base income as they appear on each infobox; Hazardhog, which has no wiki page, takes its row from the pet data module (rev 2636), which gives only its rarity, egg and income. The final column is our arithmetic for a normal-size Scrambled copy. Three infoboxes carry extra fields. Nuceodile, last edited 12 October 2026, lists a grow time of 5 mins. Rhinobear, edited 3 October, lists a hatch reward of "$100b". Wheel Hamster, edited 23 October, lists a hatch reward of $45M. The other twelve infoboxes leave those fields blank.

Three patterns stand out. Biohazard holds the single highest listed income, Nuceodile at $5B/s on its infobox (the pet data module, rev 2636, lists it at $500M/s; this site uses the infobox figure), which is higher than Octophant even though Octophant is the only Divine. Unstable is the only banner with a Divine. And the three Mythic pets are the floor on every banner, with Toxic Rat at $180K/s the lowest income on any Laboratory egg.

Horizontal bar chart of the 15 Dr. Scramble's Laboratory pets, each with its listed base income and the same income multiplied by 2.75 for the Scrambled mutation, on a log scale from Toxic Rat at $180K/s to Nuceodile at $5B/s.

Who are Experiment #001, Nibbles #013 and the numbered Boss Mastery pets?

The numbered pets are the event's own rewards. They come from the shop, the quest or Boss Mastery rather than from a Laboratory banner. Their infoboxes list them under the Event biome or leave the biome blank.

Experiment #001 is a Secret pet listed at $285M/s with a grow time of 3h 30m. Its infobox description reads "This is an event-limited egg". It is the most expensive item in the Experiment Shop at 6,500 Samples, with one in stock. Nibbles #013 is a Cosmic pet listed at $185K/s with a grow time of 15m, sold as the Nibbles #013 Egg for 2,950 Samples with three in stock. Nibbles is also the character who starts the vault quest in Abyss Ocean. Update 5's shop list calls his egg the "Experiment #013 Egg", and the event page calls it the "Nibbles #013 Egg". Both refer to one item.

Boss Mastery belongs to Part 2. The Laboratory page says each defeat of Dr. Scramble adds one Boss Mastery Point, and it lists five rewards by point total. At 10 points comes Eye Bat #021, Legendary, $115K/s. At 25 comes Citadel Snail #007, Mythic, $12.5M/s. At 50 comes Uncoiled Armadillo, Cosmic, $625K/s. At 75 comes Mecha Chompa, whose wiki page, created on 14 October 2026, has an empty infobox with no rarity and no income. At 100 comes Pink Dragon Experiment #010, Eternal, $2.5B/s. Because each defeat is worth one point, 100 points means 100 boss defeats. Dr. Scramble appears every 30 minutes, so if a player beat every appearance, 100 defeats would take at least 50 hours of play on our arithmetic.

Toxic Hedgehog is the loose end. Its infobox, edited 27 September 2026, lists a Secret pet in the Event biome at $1.75B/s from the Toxic Hedgehog Egg. That is the same edit date as most of the Laboratory pet infoboxes. The wiki's pet data module (rev 2636) now lists it at $1.75M/s; this site uses the infobox figure. No event, shop or mastery list on the wiki mentions it, so the wiki does not document how it is obtained. The tier-100 milestone reward is described only as an "OP Eternal", and Toxic Hedgehog is listed as Secret, so the two cannot be matched from the wiki alone.

One of Dr. Scramble's experiments has escaped. Somewhere on the map, Nibbles — also known as Experiment #013 — is hiding from Dr. Scramble.

Mecha Scrambler, and is the event still on?

Mecha Scrambler is the event's top prize. Its infobox, edited 6 October 2026, lists it as Divine at $7.5B/s from the Mecha Scrambler Egg, and describes it as "a secret boss drop from Dr. Scramble's Boss fight. The chances of dropping from each boss kill is 0.5%". The Laboratory page calls it "the newest Divine" and a "super rare chance when defeating Dr. Scramble". The 0.5 % is the only drop rate the wiki publishes for any event pet.

In plain numbers, 0.5 % is one in 200 boss defeats on average. A player who defeated Dr. Scramble 100 times, the number that completes Boss Mastery, would have a 1 − 0.995¹⁰⁰ ≈ 39 % chance of at least one Mecha Scrambler on our arithmetic. That leaves a 61 % chance of none. Its $7.5B/s listed income is the highest of any pet the event added, half as much again as Nuceodile's $5B/s.

On whether the event is still running, the wiki gives no end date and no closing notice. Part 1's page, last edited 20 September 2026, still ends with a box headed "Dr. Scramble Will Return". Part 2 has since replaced that, so the box is out of date rather than evidence either way. The Laboratory page calls its banner "permanent", and the Mutations page, last edited 20 September 2026, still says Scrambled is "currently obtainable". The Updates page, last edited 27 September 2026, ends at Update 6. A separate Update 7 page was created on 11 October 2026, but it holds a single heading, "Enchanted Forest", and nothing else. Nothing on the wiki says whether drones, the Mecha boss or the Experiment Shop remain after Update 7. Check in-game, and see the update page on this site for what the wiki confirms as it fills in.

Questions people ask

How much does the Scrambled mutation multiply income in Steal an Egg?
The wiki's Mutations page lists Scrambled at ×2.75, the same as Fractured. Final income is base × mutation multiplier × size multiplier, so a normal-size Scrambled pet earns 2.75 times its listed base.
How much does a Scrambled RazorFang make?
RazorFang is listed at $350M/s, so a normal-size Scrambled RazorFang earns $350M/s × 2.75 = $962.5M/s on our arithmetic. If it also rolled Huge (×5 in the wiki's examples), it would earn $4.8125B/s.
How much does a Scrambled Centaur or Skeleton Horse make?
Centaur is listed at $350M/s, so Scrambled gives $962.5M/s. Skeleton Horse is listed at $1.3B/s, so Scrambled gives $3.575B/s. Both figures are normal size; the mutation calculator applies a size on top.
What is the Unstable DNA egg?
Unstable DNA is one of three Laboratory banners. It draws on Cosmic, Cherry Blossom, Titan Temple and Angels & Demons eggs. Its pets on the wiki, listed as the Unstable Egg, are Octophant (Divine, $4B/s), Rhinobear, Sharkodile, Spiderpig and Frogfly.
How do you get Experiment #001?
The event page lists the Experiment #001 Egg in the Experiment Shop for 6,500 Samples, marked 1/1 left. Its infobox calls it an event-limited egg: a Secret pet at $285M/s with a 3h 30m grow time.
What is Nibbles #013?
Nibbles, also called Experiment #013, is the escaped experiment who starts the vault quest in an Abyss Ocean cave. His egg costs 2,950 Samples in the shop; the pet is Cosmic, listed at $185K/s with a 15m grow time.
What are the Mecha Scrambler drop odds?
Its wiki infobox says it drops from Dr. Scramble's boss fight with a 0.5 % chance per boss kill. That is one in 200 kills on average. It is Divine, listed at $7.5B/s.
Where is Dr. Scramble's Shop and what does it sell?
The event page calls it the Experiment Shop, found beneath the pet menu. It sells the Scrambled Mutation (475 Samples), Experiment #001 Egg (6,500), Nibbles #013 Egg (2,950), a 2x Cash Booster (275), 1.25x Speed (375) and a 2x Treadmill Booster (375).
Is the Dr. Scramble event still going?
The wiki does not say. It gives no end date, calls the Laboratory banner permanent and still lists Scrambled as currently obtainable. An Update 7 page created on 11 October 2026 contains only the heading "Enchanted Forest".
