Steal an Egg speed: every way to get it and every gate that needs it

Every hatch pays a one-off speed bonus (and cash) listed in the pet's infobox. Early, it is the main source: three Forest hatches — Chicken +420, Dog +460, Bird +500 — clear Lake's 900 gate with no training. Lake's Axolotl pays +4k on a five-minute egg; Desert's Camel +9k on a 45-second egg, Fennec +8.1k on 30 seconds, Jerboa +7.2k on 20 seconds. Those Desert rewards, repeated, are most of the way to Jungle's ~40K.

The rewards keep scaling with the zone: Cerberus +42k, El Maja +180k, Ankylosaurus +330k, Bronto +300k, Cosmic Gecko +1m, Cosmic Skeleton Boss +1.6m, Crustacia +2.7m, Koi +4.2m, Kitsune +6.5m, Nightflame +6.8M. Because the reward is paid per hatch, the cheap fast eggs of the current zone are a renewable speed source: hatch, collect, repeat on the five-minute nest cycle.

Training on the treadmill at your base raises speed; upgrading the treadmill raises how much you get. The wiki's Area tips say to upgrade your treadmill to make reaching later zones easier, and the Pets page says income is spent on higher-level pens, treadmills and trails. Roblox's badge data shows how few reach the top model: 0.5 % of players held the 'Angelic Treadmill!' badge on 13 September 2026 — the rarest badge in the game, rarer than a Divine hatch.

The wiki does not publish treadmill tiers, prices or speed-per-session figures, so this page does not list them. What it does establish is the order of operations: pens first (more eggs growing means more income and more hatch rewards), treadmill second, trails third.

Trails are bought with income and raise movement speed alongside treadmills, per the Eggs page's note that movement speed is upgraded via treadmills and trails. The top trail has its own badge, 'Divine Trail!', held by 1.0 % of players on 13 September 2026. As with treadmills, prices and per-trail figures are not in the register.

The wiki's Boosts page lists a full price table for temporary speed multipliers. They are the only speed you can buy directly, and the prices scale almost linearly with the multiplier at the top end.

The wiki's Area page says it twice: each zone has progressively higher speed requirements, with bigger eggs slowing you down and requiring even more than what is listed; and having enough speed to enter a zone does not necessarily mean you have enough speed to safely return with a large egg. The Eggs page adds why — bigger eggs carry a higher multiplier but are heavier and make you slower.

So the working rule is: the gate is what you need to walk in empty-handed. To walk out with the egg you came for, train past it, and train further for a big one. The wiki's tips list finishes the thought: later guardians are much stronger, plan your route before stealing, and treat Titan Temple as endgame because of its 7 billion requirement.

Forest: hatch Chicken, Dog, Bird (about 50 seconds of grow time) for 1,380 speed and enter Lake. Lake: Axolotls at +4k each; two or three cover the 10K Desert gate. Desert: Camel, Fennec and Jerboa are 20–45-second eggs paying +7.2k to +9k; a handful reach Jungle's ~40K. From Jungle the gaps widen — ~40K to ~170K to ~700K to ~2.5M — and the treadmill has to carry more of the load, with the zone's top rewards (King Snake +18k, Ice Dragon +32k, Lava Dragon +60k) as milestones rather than the plan.

Cosmic's 700M gate is the one that stops most players; the badge numbers say so. Past it, the hatch rewards jump into the millions (Cosmic Gecko +1m on a four-minute egg) and the last two gates, 2.5B and 7B, are mostly a question of how many of those you can hatch and defend.

It does not change income; that is base rate times mutation times size. It does not protect a pen; bear traps do that (three at a time, seven-second hold, none in the safe zone). And no amount of it makes an event egg appear in a nest. Speed is a key, not a multiplier.

Ignoring the treadmill entirely, the wiki's hatch rewards get you a surprisingly long way. Our arithmetic on the infobox figures:

Two sentences from the Area page are worth quoting exactly, because they are the rule most players learn by losing an egg.

Treadmill tiers and prices; how much speed a training session gives; trail prices and their speed values; how much a given egg size slows you. The wiki names all of these mechanics without numbers, and the badge statistics tell you only that the top treadmill (0.5 % of players) and top trail (1.0 %) are rare. When this site says train past the gate, that is the wiki's advice; how far past is something the source does not say.

Your current speed against the next gate. Everything on this page reduces to closing that gap — by hatch rewards first, then the treadmill, then trails, and only then by Robux — and to remembering that the gap is bigger than it looks the moment you pick up a large egg.
